Full time day course

The CIDESCO diploma is the world’s most prestigious qualification in the field of aesthetics and beauty therapy. Employers value the CIDESCO qualification because it proves that you have attained the very highest standard of expertise and professionalism in aesthetics and beauty therapy. The prestigious CIDESCO diploma is awarded to students who have passed both theory and practical examinations and provided proof of having gained at least 600 hours work experience in a beauty salon or spa. The pass mark for CIDESCO is 70%.

CIBTAC is an international examination board responsible for the education and training of beauty therapists worldwide. It has built up its reputation over 25 years and is renowned for its high levels of training and promotion of even higher standards. With a CIBTAC diploma a therapist can work all over the world. Employers recognise the value of these diplomas and know that the CIBTAC trained therapist will be competent and professional and an asset to their business. The pass mark for CIBTAC is 60%.

Successful graduates will receive the CIBTAC and CIDESCO international qualifications plus the Bronwyn Conroy Beauty School Diploma.

CIDESCO / CIBTAC course structure

The full time CIDESCO / CIBTAC day course runs from October to July (10 months). Students begin their training with the CIBTAC beautician module. The examination for this is in January. The body therapy and electrical epilation modules are covered after this. These examinations are held in May. Once CIBTAC examinations have been completed, students begin the CIDESCO module of the course. The CIDESCO examination is taken in July.

The CIDESCO module of the course incorporates a facial, body and written examination. Students must also produce a thesis of a least 4000 words and demonstrate an additional subject. The areas covered in each examination are as follows:

Students must demonstrate a treatment of their choice on the day of examination from a range of beauty therapy subjects.

Written examination

This examination consists of a 1 hour 30 minutes multiple choice paper consisting of questions taken from all parts of the CIDESCO theoretical training programme as follows:

Project with Case Histories

Candidates are required to research and write a project assignment on a subject relevant to the study of beauty therapy and connected to their case histories. This was introduced in 2017 to replace the specialised subject.  

Bronwyn Conroy were one of the first schools to include this option in our exams for June 2017.
